The balloon-

a hot air balloon goes up. higher and higher

man laughs, glittering tears shining down his cheeks.
his chuckles echo even through the vast plain

the balloon man hears it.
silent tears drop, unable to resist Earth's gravity
tears of all sadness, despair and lost hope
he's crying for himself.

Afterall he left the sad surface of Earth just to escape
only to find out that another has gotten what he always wanted,
while he, remains aloft, cut off from all mankind.
till the day, the balloon dies.
